ACCESS in Learning Difficulties

Welcome to the ACCESS e-learning course!

This asynchronous educational programme is designed for primary school teachers who wish to better understand and support students with learning difficulties in mainstream classrooms.

About the Course

In this course, you will explore what Learning Difficulties (LDs) are, their main types, and how they affect children’s academic and emotional development. You will learn about both General Learning Difficulties (GLD) and Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD), including Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and Dysgraphia, as well as the links with conditions such as ADHD.

The course also highlights the psychosocial aspects of LDs and emphasises the importance of early identification, family involvement, and tailored teaching strategies. By the end of the course, you will feel more confident in creating inclusive classroom practices that allow every child to reach their potential.

Course Progress and Completion

To ensure meaningful progress, the course has been designed as a step-by-step journey. Each topic must be completed before moving on to the next one, and to unlock a new chapter you will need to achieve at least 80% in the quiz of the previous one. Once you have successfully completed all chapters, you will receive a Certificate of Participation.
