The school principal personally guided us through the building, sharing the school’s stories and giving us a glimpse into its vibrant learning environment. We had the opportunity to see the different spaces dedicated to workshops and activities, including art, practical skills, sports, and dance, all designed to nurture creativity, collaboration, and wellbeing. The school also presented its innovative programmes for supporting students and highlighted inspiring initiatives in adult education, ensuring that learning opportunities continue beyond formal schooling. Their holistic approach showed us how schools can truly serve as lifelong learning communities.

Afterwards, we visited the Daily Centre, where we observed a variety of activities taking place in a very positive, playful, and serene atmosphere. The centre offers music, ergotherapy, multisensorial stimulation, and occupational therapy, all of which are tailored to individual needs while fostering joy and engagement. It was inspiring to see how therapeutic approaches are integrated into daily routines, supporting both personal development and inclusion.

On the second day we were warmly welcomed by the Lithuanian Education and Science Trade Union (Lietuvos švietimo ir mokslo profesinė sąjunga), a key national organisation that advocates for teachers’ professional development and the improvement of education systems.

Our working sessions there focused on the project’s work packages, with particular emphasis on the creation of the ACCESS Digital Library — a dynamic online hub that will provide resources for teachers, educators, and parents working with children with learning difficulties. We also defined the roadmap for the piloting activities with teachers scheduled for next year.

The meeting was both productive and inspiring, strengthening our international partnership and confirming our shared commitment to supporting learners with difficulties across Europe.

Next stop: Athens, March 2026 — we are excited to continue this journey together!

On 25–26 September 2025, the partners of the ACCESS project gathered in Vilnius and Joniškis, Lithuania, for two days of exchange, collaboration, and forward-looking planning.
